The Catholic School

The Catholic School recreates 1970s Rome and the social climate surrounding the Circeo massacre through the students of an elite all-boys school. As Makeup Department Head, Dalia Colli leads an ensemble-driven approach rooted in historical credibility: skin tones, facial hair and everyday details evoke the period without turning it into decorative nostalgia. Makeup distinguishes generations and social environments, maintains continuity across a large cast and follows the gradual fracture of apparent normality. In Stefano Mordini’s film, the characters’ outward respectability becomes part of a tense narrative that slowly exposes the violence beneath it.
